Selamat Hari Raya!

A few more days to Hari Raya. This is the last weekend of Ramadhan, and it'll be mostly celebration of Raya festivity after that.

I'm blogging this from my favourite spot in Coffee Hut, RastaTTDI. Looking at the crowd, I know that only a handful is involved in balik-kampung festivity. Why? Because all these people who are here are mostly those celebrating in the city - KL, Selangor / PJ.

I'm sadden at the fact that Ramadhan will be leaving soon. It has been a good month for me. I'm sure it's somewhat a good month for everyone else all around.

Nevertheless, I'm taking this opportunity to wish all...

Selamat Hari Raya! Maaf Zahir & Batin

A little message from the part-time baker...

Someone told me, I should put up a "list" of flavours of macaroons. Well, I don't do this on a regular basis, after all it is a part-time thing I do. However, I know that there's always a limit to a "part-time" thingy... so, I have decided to list the possible flavours of my macaroons on this weekend :-

Many hang out there to chill. It's always been my home away from home. Cozy, dim lights... and the place when my husband (then boyfriend) proposed.

To me, Coffee Hut means a lot of things that no one can understand. It really is like a BIG kitchen for me. It has all types of coffee served... all types of teas to sip... the juices for refreshing the throat. Even on days when my throat is sore, it has that "Honey Lemon" which I love to have!

Coffee Hut is THE place for me to find inspiration. To NOT go to sleep when I got BIG and HUGE things to settle. THE place I and husband chill with close friends. Those who share the same interest.

Many don't understand my enthusiasm for Coffee Hut... I've made memories there, the good, the bad and the ugly. The beauty of the place lies with the people I've had close ties with, sharing the moments with me.

Now, Coffee Hut adds another reason for me to be there. It's a place where I try to strut my macaroons. Not everyday... If I'm full of determination, I'll be selling more than two flavours for the duration of Friday - Sunday... It's just something new I'm trying to venture in.

And... with the support from the family in RastaTTDI, I'm utterly greatful to be given this unique opportunity to try. *winks*

Some of many... things I bake/cook.

This is some of my many things that I bake... and it's quite tasteful, if I do say so myself. There's always room for improvement though.

Cooking/Baking, has always been something I enjoy doing. It's something that gives me the edge to actually de-stress in my life that's full of things to stress about. So, this is what I do... I bake and cook JUST so that I can create food that's colourful, delicious and makes me and others that eats my food HAPPY!

Never had I intended for my food to be sold... because I don't think it's that skill worthy to be out there. After all, there are many others out there with QUALIFIED certification to cook and bake. Those MASTERCHEF shows, that's always puts me to my place. I never can cook something like they did. Nevertheless, I tried.

By the way, the first picture is a shell of the "blue" macaroons. These shells will be laced with blueberry jam to make it more yummy.

This is another of my favourite. It's a trifle. Layers of dessert. My trifle is always with cakes, jellies and whipped cream. Alternatively, I'll add on top some chocolate chips, strawberries, grapes, chocolate rice, coloured rice... anything that can make this dessert looks more appealing. There's even one time I had made for a kid's day - trifle with all M&Ms and gummy bears. The kids enjoyed it. ;-)

Now, this is my signature dish before I had started all these macaroon baking. I am more towards macaroni bakar/baked macaroni. What's inside? Layers of prawn, beef/chicken, macaroni, spices and all basic ingredients to make this dish scrumptious. This dish is something I know everyone likes. This has always been my signature dish.


The other two photos below are my other baking yummy stuff for your viewing pleasure. One is the strawberry shells for macaroons - which will be laced with either jam/nutella; and the other is my late-grandmother's recipe for kuih - Kuih Sarang Semut.

I'm pretty sure that there's more to come in my blog.

Do check in every so often. I may even feature some of my friend's best works of food for sale! Trust me, if something appears here, you would want to try it.
