A Walk, A Kidney, A Life

Now known as Malaysia Day. It's a day where we are given a public holiday to remember the day of Malaysia's formation.

Taking this opportunity to rally people for an event on Malaysia day... A walk, A Kidney, A Life.

This is a fundraising event started by Kidney4Daddy. You can check out the profile here. On that day, there will be lots of fun activities and stuff to shop for. There will even be a FREE kidney screening test by the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). Early detection can safe lives.

There will be:-

- Star Wars Collectible Items and Flame Grill Burger Bakar from Adely's car;
- a programme to "look 10 years younger in 8 weeks" by Jane Ravissante;
- Authentic Malaysia League Football Jerseys by Ligakit;
- Universal Mobile Charger and other items by Gadgetzsaurus...

and lots more.

I, myself, have an ongoing kidney problem. I have not reached the stage where I have to go for dialysis, but I'm on the pills everyday til the day pills won't help anymore. I don't have a specific kidney problem... mine is more complicated than that. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, is a chronic autoimmune disease that attacks any part of your organ.

Because I understood how much it is a pain to be in a disease that drains the energy of happiness, I jumped in at the opportunity to help out financially... by joining this Car Boot Sale.


Our Car will be featuring Macarons, Meringues, Bread Butter Pudding, Macaroni Bakar and some other stuff that you can think off. And, we will also have a "game" section for UNO and Blokus. Learn it, and you will be hooked!

My pledge is to give 50% of my sale profits to Kidney4Daddy. So, we really hope you will join us for a good time!

There's something new to be introduced here...

Do-it-yourself Macarons... well, flavour that is.

The most asked question when some people call when they want to order macarons from KooKies, Etc... what flavour do you have? Well, I have always believed that a person should be able to choose the flavour and colour of their macaron. So, the following are my step by step guide to ordering macarons from KooKies, Etc.

Step 1 : Pick your Macaron Shell Flavour :-

It could be a plain with or without almond ground nuts.

Chocolate
Vanilla
Chococino
Orange
Green Tea

Step 2 : Choose your favourite colour:-

This would do well for theme parties/birthdays/engagements/weddings/baby showers...

Brown (this is normally for Chocolate Macaron shells)
Pink
Purple
White
Green
Yellow
Orange

3) Savour the filling flavour:-

Nutella
Dark Chocolate Ganache
White Chocolate Ganache
Strawberry Jam
Blurberry Jam
Lemon Marmalade
White Chocolate Strawberry Ganache

4) Packaging:-

Normal Macaron - package in plastic

Keyya Kayya Bazaar Vol 3

Keyya Kayya Bazaar Vol 3.

Kookies, etc... featuring @razzprotein Lasagna!

Kookies, etc decided to join in the fun with Keyya Kayya, yet again. This is the first of hopefully many more in this year of 2012. This time the collaboration is with a dear friend - Razlin and her ever so yummy lasagna.

We had sold a lot of things that night. Namely:-

a) Lollipop Macaroons - flavours: vanilla with chocolate peanut butter ganache, purple peanut butter, chocolate ganache;

b) Macaroons - flavours: purple peanut butter, chocolate nutella; chocolate ganache;

c) Bread Butter Peanut Butter Pudding;

d) Macaroni Bakar; and

e) Lasagna - Chicken and Beef.

It was a success, overall. We had recovered our cost and made a minimum margin of profit. But it was good overall.

It was an impromptu thing... impromptu and careful planning. But it was very much a pleasant experience, especially with nicococo.

We will definitely do more of these bazaars @RastaTtdi.

Wedding Macaroons - Richard & Ann

This weekend, I had a project for my boss. Colourful Macaroons for his candy corner at his wedding reception.

I'm glad that I was given the opportunity to do such project. Let the photos speak for themselves. *winks*
